Les vainqueurs du championnat du monde de l'année est Takashi Ogawa ( Japon ) et son Agent/Fairy deck ainsi que Lee Jong-Hwan ( Corée du Sud ) qui lui à remporté Le championnat du monde du jeu vidéo : Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s World Championship 2011: Over The Nexus qui réunissait les 12 meilleurs joueurs du jeu.

Le championnat s'est déroulé le week-end du 13 et 14 aout à Amsterdam ( Pays-Bas ).
26 duellistes qualifiés venus du monde entier ont lutté dans des duels de très hauts niveaux afin de décrocher le titre de Champion du monde !
Après une lutte acharnée, c'est finalement Takashi Ogawa ( Agent/Fairy ) qui a su faire la différence notamment en final face à Kei Murakoshi ( Doppel/Plant ).
